Project Architect

Our team of exceptional Architects is at the forefront of our success, and we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team as a Project Architect.

We are based in the stunning Cayman Islands and have forged a reputation for creating transformative spaces. We are a multi-disciplined design firm specializing in corporate interiors, commercial building and residential homes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about design, have a strong design sense and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client, team and project coordination.
  • Coordinate and fully document project requirements with structural, MEPF, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants.
  • Lead planning and permit communication with the local planning authority for Cayman.
  • Strong knowledge of the design process, including specification of materials, FF&E, color and branding
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and detailing.
  • Produce and oversee architectural sets.
  • Provide technical guidance and creative solutions to resolve both design and technical challenges.
  • Ensure code compliance, accessibility standards, and sustainability goals are integrated into designs
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources
  • Ensure drawings and project manuals and specifications are maintained and updated throughout the project.
  • Lead Contract Administration on projects including the preparation of meeting minutes, and timely review of shop drawings, submittals and RFI’s.

Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Approach to Work

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and consultants, maintaining a professional and solutions-focused approach.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and consultants. Lead project meetings & client presentations
  • Organize and prioritize own work efforts in addition to assisting team members
  • Contribute to a team approach through the spirit of collaboration
  • Mentoring and management of junior staff

Core Software Proficiencies

  • AutoCAD- 2D drafting, detailing, and technical drawing
  • Experience with Revit and BIM knowledge an asset
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) documentation, reports, schedules and communication
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) skills nice to have
  • 3D Max, Rhino, or SketchUp nice to have for 3D visualization

Education, Experience and Training

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • 10+ years of professional experience in architectural practice
  • Licensed or registered architect.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply 2009 International Building Code, ADA requirements
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a high degree of professionalism
